Our Physicians
Robert Ashenburg, MD
Dr. Ashenburg received his undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University
and his doctor of medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
After completing an internship and residency year in internal medicine at the
University of Rochester he completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the
Rochester General Hospital. He subsequently completed a fellowship in vascular
and interventional radiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Ashenburg was an assistant professor of radiology at
the University Hospital, Syracuse and co-director of the Vascular and Interventional
Radiology section. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualifications
in vascular and interventional radiology.
Gerald Black, MD
Dr. Black received his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University
followed by a medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. He then
completed a medicine internship at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse followed
by a diagnostic radiology residency. Prior to joining CRA he was an assistant
professor at University Hospital, Syracuse. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Scott Buckingham, MD
Dr. Buckingham received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in
St. Louis. He received his doctor of medicine from SUNY Health Science Center,
Syracuse followed by a transitional internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
He then completed a residency in diagnostic radiology as well as a fellowship
in vascular and interventional radiology at the SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse.
Prior to joining CRA, he was an attending physician and an assistant professor
of radiology at University Hospital Syracuse in the interventional radiology
section and co-director of medical student teaching in radiology. He was then
in private practice with Radiologic Group Services at Community General Hospital
prior to merging with CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with
added qualifications in vascular and interventional radiology.
James Callahan, MD
Dr. Callahan received his undergraduate degree from Holy Cross College. He received
his doctor of medicine degree from SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse followed
by a rotating internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. He then completed
a radiology residency at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. Subsequently he
served with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps on active duty. Prior to joining CRA,
Dr. Callahan was an attending physician at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. He
is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Daniel Cannucciari, MD
Dr. Cannucciari received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Syracuse University prior to his Medicine degree from SUNY Buffalo. He did six months of medicine internship at Genesee Hospital followed by six months in radiology at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He then did radiology residency at Strong Memorial Hospital followed by a fellowship in CT and ultrasound. He was a radiologist with Auburn Radiologic Associates prior to merging with CRA.
John Cucinotta, MD
Dr. Cucinotta received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University followed
by a doctor of medicine degree from SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. He completed
an internship in surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital followed by a diagnostic radiology
residency at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. Prior to joining CRA, he was
an assistant professor at University Hospital, Syracuse. He is board certified
in Diagnostic Radiology.
Nicholas D’Ambrosio, MD
Dr. D’Ambrosio received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University. He received his medical degree as well as completing an internship in medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He then completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center followed by a neuroradiology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Cornell University/Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology. Dr. D’Ambrosio will have his first opportunity to sit for neuroradiology added qualifications exam this year.
David Flannagan, MD
Dr. Flannagan received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He attended the SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse for his medical degree. He then completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Pennsylvania State University followed by a body imaging fellowship with both cross-sectional imaging training and body interventional training at the University of Rochester. He was then in private practice with Radiologic Group Services at Community General Hospital prior to merging with CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Mark Franklin, MD
Dr. Franklin received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College. He received
his medical degree from the University of Rochester. After completing a medicine
internship at the Highland Hospital affiliate of University of Rochester he did
his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Rochester. Subsequently
he did a fellowship in body imaging at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University
of Rochester. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Franklin was a staff radiologist at Community
General Hospital. While on staff there he did additional training in neuroradiology.
He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualifications in neuroradiology.
Thomas Green, MD
Dr. Green received his undergraduate degree from Utica College of Syracuse University.
He holds a master’s degree in biophysical chemistry from the State University
of New York at Binghamton. He received his doctor of medicine from Jefferson
Medical College. Dr. Green completed a diagnostic radiology residency as well
as a fellowship in nuclear medicine at the SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse.
After completing his fellowship he joined CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic
radiology with added qualification in nuclear medicine.
Stuart Groskin, MD
Dr. Groskin received his undergraduate degree and doctor of medicine degree
from Yale University. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine
at the University of Rochester. Subsequently he completed a fellowship in pulmonary
medicine at Brown University. For several years Dr. Groskin was an assistant
professor of medicine at Michigan State University. He then completed a diagnostic
radiology residency at Rochester General Hospital. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Groskin
was an associate professor in the radiology department at University Hospital,
Syracuse. He also held an appointment as associate professor in the Department
of Medicine. Dr. Groskin served as the head of the chest imaging section as well
as co-director of medical student teaching in radiology and the radiology residency
program. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Sudhir Guthikonda, MD
Dr. Guthikonda received his medical degree from Guntur Medical College, India. He then served as a rotating intern in Guntur, House Physician in Tenali, and did a post graduate radiology year in Guntur, India. He subsequently did senior house officer years in OB/Gyn and Surgery in Ireland. After additional years as senior house officer in both emergency medicine and orthopedics he came to the US and completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Guthikonda has served as staff radiologist and chairman at Oswego Hospital and A.L. Lee Hospital prior to joining CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Mark Jackson, MD
Dr. Jackson received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his medical
degree from Tufts University. After two years of surgical residency and one year
of surgical ICU fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts he served
as an ambulatory care physician at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Massachusetts
and house physician at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY. He completed a radiology
residency at Harlem Hospital in New York followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular
and interventional radiology at Wellesley Hospital/University of Toronto. After
training Dr Jackson was a staff radiologist at Community General Hospital and
later Oswego Hospital and A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital. He is board eligible in
diagnostic radiology.
Anita Klaus, MD
Dr. Klaus received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas.
She completed pre-medical studies at Davies College, London, England and attended
medical school at Cambridge University (BA degree), Cambridge, England. Dr.
Klaus received her medical degree from New York Medical College followed by a
rotating internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York. She completed
her diagnostic radiology residency at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center,
Denver, Colorado. Subsequently Dr. Klaus completed a fellowship in breast imaging
and intervention at the Sally Jobe Breast Center in Englewood Colorado. Prior
to joining CRA, Dr. Klaus was a staff radiologist at Sally Jobe Breast Center.
She subsequently joined the radiology staff at Community General Hospital where
she has directed the Wellspring Breast Center. She is board certified in diagnostic
radiology.
E. Mark Levinsohn, MD
Dr. Levinsohn received his undergraduate degree as well as his doctor of medicine
from the University of Washington. He did internship and medical residency in
Baltimore City Hospitals at Johns Hopkins University. He received radiology training
at Fort Gordon Army Hospital followed by diagnostic radiology residency at the
University of Vermont. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Levinsohn was professor of radiology
at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse Department of Radiology. He served
as head of both musculoskeletal imaging and as division director of diagnostic
imaging. Dr. Levinsohn is also a fellow of the American College of Radiology
as well as an emeritus member of the American Roentgen Ray Society and the American
College of Radiology. He has also served as a board examiner for diagnostic radiology.
He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Steven Leverich, MD
Dr. Leverich was initially a radiology technologist prior to obtaining his undergraduate degree from SUNY Stonybrook in biology. He began Medical School at St. George University and completed his Medicine degree at SUNY Syracuse. After a medicine internship at SUNY Syracuse he began a radiology residency at SUNY Buffalo and completed it at Eastern Virginia School of Medicine. He was a radiologist with Auburn Radiologic Associates prior to merging with CRA.
Dean Melville, MD
Dr. Melville received his undergraduate degree and his medical degree from the University of Rochester. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester and subsequently practiced with the National Health Service in Tupper Lake, NY. He later practiced internal medicine for a number of years in both Saranac Lake and Binghamton, NY. Dr. Melville later returned to train with a diagnostic radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Rochester. He was then in private practice with Radiologic Group Services at Community General Hospital prior to merging with CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualifications in neuroradiology.
Stephen Montgomery, MD
Dr. Montgomery completed his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College. He received
his medical degree from Boston University. After an internship in internal medicine
at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Massachusetts he completed his diagnostic radiology
residency at the University of Vermont. He then completed a body imaging and
MRI fellowship at the University of Vermont. After completing his fellowship
he joined CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Peter Nicholson, MD
Dr. Nicholson received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He received his doctor of medicine from George Washington University. After completing an internship in internal medicine at the Georgetown University Hospital he practiced emergency medicine and urgent care at the Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia, New York and the St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, New York. He subsequently spent three years in the Indian Health Service in South Dakota followed by additional practice in emergency medicine at the Fairmont General Hospital in West Virginia as well as the Monogalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He then completed a diagnostic radiology residency at West Virginia University Hospital. Prior to joining CRA he was an associate professor at Wake Forest University and has practiced with Corning Radiology Associates, Associated Radiologists of the Finger Lakes, and Auburn Radiologic Associates. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
G. Michael Palmer, MD
Dr. Palmer received an undergraduate degree in geography from Dartmouth College and then did additional premedical studies at Harvard University. He then obtained his medicine degree from Albany Medical College. After a medicine internship at Albany Medical College he began residency in anesthesia before moving to a research position in radiology at the University of South Florida. He then completed a radiology residency at Mount Auburn Hospital in Boston. He was a radiologist at Community General Hospital and with Auburn Radiologic Associates prior to merging with CRA.
Richard Rozanski, MD
Dr. Rozanski received his undergraduate degree from Boston University. He obtained
his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center Syracuse followed by a diagnostic
radiology residency. He then completed a fellowship in ultrasound and abdominal
imaging. Prior to joining Crouse Radiology Associates Dr. Rozanski was a staff
radiologist at Auburn Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Guido Scatorchia, MD
Dr. Scatorchia attended Williams College for his undergraduate degree. He received his doctor of medicine at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse followed by three years in surgical residency. He then completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the SUNY Health Science Center. He subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Doctor Scatorchia was previously an interventional radiologist on staff at the Denver Health Medical Center and an assistant professor of radiology in the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center prior to joining CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualifications in vascular and interventional radiology.
Aaron Sharma, MD
Dr. Sharma received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his Medical Degree from the Chicago Medical School of Rosalind Franklin University. After transitional internship at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago he completed a radiology residency at Boston University. Dr. Sharma then completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Rochester.
James Sherwood, MD
Dr. Sherwood received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. He obtained
his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. Dr. Sherwood did
a pathology internship at the Albany medical center followed by a diagnostic
radiology residency. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Sherwood was an attending radiologist
with Berkshire Physicians and Surgeons in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He has also
been a staff radiologist with St. Joseph’s Imaging Associates. He is board certified
in diagnostic radiology.
Stuart Singer, MD
Dr. Singer completed a combined bachelors and medicine degree program at Pennsylvania State University. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College followed by a rotating internship at the Wilmington Medical Center in Delaware. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Vermont and then completed a vascular interventional radiology fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. After completing his fellowship Dr. Singer joined CRA. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualifications in vascular and interventional radiology.
Zella Small, MD
Dr. Small received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oneonta. She received her
medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. She then completed an
internship and two years of surgery residency. She subsequently completed a diagnostic
radiology residency. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Small was an assistant professor
at University Hospital, Syracuse. She is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
James Suchnicki, MD
Dr. Suchnicki received an undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton followed by a medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. He than served as a general medical officer at Mannheim Health Clinic in Germany. After an internship at Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco he did a diagnostic radiology residency at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Colorado. After completing his residency he was a staff radiologist Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He than came to Oswego as a staff radiologist at Oswego Hospital and A.L. Lee Hospital prior to joining CRA. He has served as Chairman at Lee Hospital. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Michael Tersegno, MD
Dr. Tersegno received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from St. Lawrence University followed by a masters degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan. After obtaining a degree in medicine from the University of Rochester he did both a medicine internship and radiology residency at Rochester General Hospital. Dr. Tersegno was previously in practice with Auburn Radiologic Associates prior to merging with CRA.
David Thompson, MD
Dr. Thompson received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University. He received his medical degree followed by an internship at Indiana University. He subsequently completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Yale University. After serving in the US Air Force for several years as Chief of Radiology at
Monthan Air Force Base he returned to Yale University to complete a neuroradiology fellowship. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
David Wang, MD
Dr. Wang received his undergraduate degree from Hope College followed by a medical
degree from Wayne State University. He did his diagnostic radiology residency
at Sinai Hospital, Detroit followed by a second residency in nuclear medicine
at the Henry Ford Hospital. Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Wang was a staff radiologist
at Henry Ford Hospital as well as with Wyoming Radiology in Sheridan, Wyoming.
He is board certified inboth diagnostic radiolog and
nuclear medicine.
